About Our Educational Classes

The Quincy Museum offers tours and programs for visitors of all ages; preschool through senior citizens. Our classes are available for school groups, home school groups, Scouts of America, and other groups. Our education classes are taught by a certified instructor and include hands-on activities for the students and a take-home packet of materials for the chaperone/classroom teacher. 
The Quincy Museum also offers educational programming that we can provide on-site in your classroom or wherever your group may be meeting.

Backyard & Ocean Animals

Young explorers will enjoy hands-on activities and a fun create-your-own-animal craft.

Fossils

Become a paleontologist using real excavation tools and the scientific method to uncover and identify fossils. Each student will also receive a fossil to take home.

Native Americans

Explore the cultures and lifeways of Native peoples from the Archaic, Woodland, Late Prehistoric, and Historic periods through artifacts, traditional games, and hands-on activities.

Rocks and Minerals

Dig into the world of geology by using tools to excavate and identify rocks, gems, and minerals. Includes a fascinating fluorescent mineral experiment and a trip to our rock cave!​

Dinosaurs​

Step back in time and discover the world of dinosaurs! Young paleontologists will enjoy a hands-on dinosaur dig or dinosaur puzzle, and each child will receive a special take-home gift.​

Wildlife​

Discover North American wildlife while learning the importance of conservation. Explore hand-carved extinct birds, an underwater lake scene, and identify animal tracks.​

Growing up in the 1980's

Step back in time to experience childhood in the 1890s. Tour the historic mansion, explore a beautifully restored Victorian bedroom, and enjoy traditional games from the era.

The Quincy Museum is fully accessible to those with limited mobility and to those using strollers. We offer a handicap parking space in our parking lot and a ramp is located on the north side of the building, allowing easy access. Inside the building, we offer an elevator and a restroom on the third floor offers a changing table and a handicap accessible toilet and sink.
